R&S SITLine ETH NG is an Ethernet (Layer 2) encryption solution and enables secure data exchange through an Ethernet connection and ensures the data’s confidentiality and integrity. The encryption uses the entire line bandwidth of a 1 Gbit/s line (R&S®SITLine ETH-S) or of up to 4 independent 10 Gbit/s lines (R&S®SITLine ETH-L) in full-duplex mode regardless of the package size being transferred. In combination with the low latency, the device is integrated into the data network without any significant compromise to the network functionalities and performance.

 R&S®Trusted Objects Manager NE is the central security management system (SMS) for R&S®SITLine ETH NG. The server acts as the certificate authority (CA) of a PKI and is operated in a secure environment. The client service is a web browser and runs on the administrators' workstations. The authentication is carried out as a two-factor authentication with a token on smart card basis.
