Nokia’s 1830 PSS photonic service switching platform provides a wide range of optical transport functions for network applications in the metro, regional and long-haul segments. The PSS R13.1.4 system includes shelf variants supporting a range of capacity options, supported by common optical networking modules. Included in the module family are encrypting transponders that utilize AES-256 per port encryption as part of a Quantum-Safe network solution. These encrypting transponders support a variety of client interfaces and provide line-side wire speed encryption at 10 & 100 Gbits/s. Encryption keys are distributed and managed from the 1830 SMS centralized security management server, creating a fully symmetric, quantum-safe layer 1 transport solution.
